About the Compass Community Council

Who We Are

Launched in 2023, this community-led group focuses on amplifying the voices of the immigrant & ethnic communities represented in the Greater Cincinnati Region. Members are immigrant and international community leaders who work to shape the direction of the council to uplift and strengthen the capacity of their organizations to serve the people they represent.

Council Objectives

  • Build social connections of Community Based Organizations.
  • Enhance capacity to leverage assets of community members.
  • Elevate the voices and visibility of community members to bring change.
  • Strengthen strategic partnerships.

Participants

  • Community Leaders from Country and Ethnic Community based Organizations in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky.

APNET’s mission is to provide a forum that unites professionals of African origin and their allies to promote and facilitate charitable and educational initiatives among members and the larger communities they belong to.

Cameroon Family of Cincinnati

Nepali Language and Arts Center (NLAC)

The Nepali Language and Arts Center is dedicated to preserving, promoting, protecting, and strengthening Nepali language, arts, and culture within the Nepali-speaking community. Additionally, it aims to generate and empower new opportunities for children and youths through diverse training programs.

Refuge Collaborative

Refuge Collaborative

Refuge is a higher education initiative aimed at addressing barriers refugee students face after resettlement through mentorship focused on education accessibility, ESL, and social and cultural navigation. Refuge envisions creating a community where refugee students have greater access to education through mentorship.

Our mission is to empower immigrant communities by providing critical legal guidance, advocacy, and community support. Since our founding, we have served as a vital resource for individuals and families navigating complex legal systems, including immigration, family, and traffic courts.

International Center of Greater Cincinnati

The International Center of Greater Cincinnati is a small, all-volunteer nonprofit organization. It assists immigrants, refugees, asylees, and internationals living in the Greater Cincinnati area by helping them with problem-solving and connecting them to social services when appropriate and needed. The Center is open to everyone, regardless of ethnic background, religion, or immigration status.
